Thriving on authenticity and emotional transparency, Softspoken lives by their motto, “speak true, be you,” encouraging listeners to embrace who they are, unapologetically.
While their core sound draws influences from the mid-to-late 2000s post-hardcore scene, Softspoken masterfully weaves together elements of rock, metal, punk, pop, and RnB to deliver a dynamic sound with a delicate balance of aggression and vulnerability that reflects the complex spectrum of human emotion.
Though currently based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Softspoken started in Japan as a solo passion project for guitarist Chris Wethington while living abroad – evolving into a full band after his return to the US. In the time since, the band has toured across the US and Japan – supporting artists such as Eyes Set To Kill and Tokyo’s Survive Said The Prophet.
They have amassed over 10 million streams across platforms from their catalog of releases (three EPs and one LP), the most recent of which was featured in Billboard Japan, Rolling Stone Japan, with standout single ”Invincible” getting airtime on Sirius XM Octane.
