Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Claire Hinkle has been writing songs since childhood, performing her own music around North Texas by the age of 15. After graduating high school, she moved to New York City to attend The New School, earning degrees in Music and Philosophy while performing at legendary venues such as The Bitter End.
Returning to Texas after graduation, Claire fronted a regional rock band before rediscovering her Country Americana roots following a pivotal trip to SXSW and LUCK Reunion in 2024. That renewed focus on storytelling led to a new collection of songs that, through mutual connections, caught the attention of Grammy Award winning producer Shooter Jennings.
Since launching her solo Americana project, Claire has performed at SXSW (2025 & 2026), AmericanaFest 2025, and Western AF 2026, and was named Fort Worth Weekly’s 2026 Singer/Songwriter of the Year. Blending Texas storytelling with rock-and-roll grit, Claire is quickly establishing herself as one of the region’s rising Americana voices.
